The Lego creator range of products is unique in that it comes with instructions to build more than one model. So in the case of this set, there are instructions for three positive houses; the apple tree house, a townhouse and a summer house. You can only build one house at a time but it allows greater playability for fans that are into building models from instructions. The only downside to the creator sets is that they commonly don't come with any minifigures, something that Lego could remedy truly in the future.

In this set then main house is known as the Apple Tree house and the schooling book is 70 pages so it is quite a long build. It incorporates a very cute and colourful house and garden setting, with an apple tree, working mail box with letters inside, a satellite dish on the roof, a basketball net and lawnmower, opportunity front and stable doors, a ladder up to the attic and heaps more. It looks good from all angles and with the expanding of a minifigure you have a very consuming home.

Lego

Its a lot of fine details for such a small model and that is one of the highlights of the creator range. The designers, free from licensing and playability restrictions are able to add features that give the models more character. You can take off the roof and play inside which is a nice feature for young fans but like most of these sets there is very miniature inside. Lego have obviously made the decision to let the builders make their own furniture, which is not a bad idea.

The set contains some nice pieces including the blue roof tiles which are a rarity in modern Lego sets but give all convention houses that distinctive touch. The other two houses are also fun to build and have their own distinctive produce features. Wide this is a very consuming set and with the expanding of any minifigure would furnish hours of building and playability for any fan.

Lego report 2010 - The Lego Book and Standing Small

Lego is a toy for kids. Say that in a group of adults and you will probably see a lot of guilty faces. Many adults harbor a inexpressive love for this little colored brick that has enchanted kids for decades. Many children who grew up loving Lego are now adults with kids of their own and a disposable revenue to finally secure those large sets they coveted as a child. And I won't even talk about associates who pay their employees to play with lego in the name of enhancing creativity and teamwork.

If you are one of these adult fans who looks for any excuse to buy bricks for any child within your family radius then there is now a book you can proudly place on your coffee table and say that your child left it there. As a matter of fact it is two books, two large hardcovers beautifully bound and stored inside a similarly challenging slipcase.

Dorling Kindersley, the publishing company who trademarked the white background photo, has a long history with Lego and their primary book released sometime last millennium was a sell-out success. Their up-to-date update builds on that book and amps up the cool/drool factor to the max. The larger book, naturally titled "The Lego Book" looks at both the history of the company and the various themes released over the years, while the other, "Standing Small", celebrates the humble minifigure.

The Lego Book looks first at the challenging history of this Danish export and then goes through the process of how a brick is made and packaged into a set. The middle section goes through the main themes Lego have released over the years, including the Town/City, Pirate and Space themes as well as the various licensed themes such as Batman, Harry Potter and Star Wars. This section also includes photos of popular sets throughout the years, and is a boon for fans. The final section takes a look at the larger Lego world including theme parks, clubs and artistic creations.

Standing Small then gets up close and personal with minifigures throughout the Lego universe and although it is not exhaustive it covers alot of area. Apparently there have been 2500 variations on the minifigure made over the years and there are a total of 4 billion minifigs in existence nearby the world!

Priced at , this is a great book for you to buy for a Lego fan so you can share your love of Lego with someone who understands.

Lego Star Wars report - January 2010 - Set 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter

The Droid Tri-fighter is part of Lego's Star Wars wave for early 2010 and features 268 pieces. Recommended for building for ages 7-12 this set is a re-release of an earlier Droid Tri-Fighter model that came out in 2005 when Star Wars part Iii was released in cinemas.

This set is a re-release of set 7252 and is a huge improvement, literally. The set is bigger and a droid can even sit in the ball in the middle, even though the fighter doesn't need a pilot as it drives itself. The missiles are fired from the bottom and are larger than usual. The set comes with both stickers and printed pieces, the printed pieces being preferable.

Lego

The droid tri-fighter comes with extra three battle droids, known as Rocket Battle Droids because of their quality to fly round in space with an attached rocket backpack. The droids were first featured in The Clone Wars television series, part Rising Malevolence when Plo Kloon's clonetroopers, deployed into leave pods, were moderately eliminated by these roving rocket droids.

The set comes with two quarterly Rocket Battle Droids (also featured in the Hyena Droid Bomber) and one Rocket Droid Commander who is excellent by a yellow mark on his head and torso. The droids look a limited distinct from the quarterly tan battle droids, their bodies are a gold color and their limbs a dark gray. The colors of this set are quite beautiful all round, and make a nice departure from all the gray ships we have seen recently.

Priced at .99 this is one of the economy sets in this new wave and is a fun set to play with, particularly if paired with the Arc-170 set. You all the time need some separatist ships to make your good guys look good and these droid ships are attractive, easy to manoeuvre and fun to destroy.

Lego 2010 report - Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 1

A major part of playing with or collecting Lego has been the fun minifigure designs. Either they are representations of characters we know from books or films, fantastical figures of Lego's imagining from space and beyond or small plastic versions of regular population throughout history and the contemporary world, the minifig has always symbolised Lego's fun and playable style.

In 2010 Lego is taking this love for their miniature population and is releasing a series of particular minifigures designed to be sold as stand-alone and collectible pieces. The first wave of the Lego Collectible Minifigures, released in May 2010, included 16 figures that come with a range of separate looks and accessories.

They are miniature edition pieces that will be phased out of production after a time and with their unique designs and low price point are designed to be swapped and traded surrounded by fans and will no doubt quiz, high prices on the secondary market. They are offered for sale in small opaque plastic bags and it is not possible to decide what is contained inside. All of this of procedure increases Lego's brand awareness and reputation worldwide.

The first wave of figures consist of a Demolition Dummy, Forest man, Cowboy, Super Wrestler, Zombie, Ninja, Cheerleader, Skater, Tribal Hunter, Circus Clown, Magician, Deep Sea Diver, Robot, Nurse, Caveman or Spaceman. They are all highly distinctive and a lot of fun. Early polls online indicate that fans are favouring the Cheer Leader, Forestman and the Zombie as highlights of this wave.

If you are wondering Either this is just a rehash of old figures keep in mind that the vast majority of the body parts (hair, torso, legs, heads) and accessories (syringes, trumpet, pom poms, etc) are brand new. That is they have never been used for sets before and given the miniature nature of these figures, chances are they may not be used in the future.

For young and adult fans this means that they can now create caveman scenes for the first time or recreate the zombie scenes from "Shaun Of The Dead" or "28 Days" with authentic Lego body bits. At per frame it is such an accessible way for fans to develop their Lego variety in a satisfyingly fun and highly addictive way.

Lego Star Wars report 2010 - Set 8088 the Arc-170

The Arc-170 is the largest of the January 2010 wave with 396 pieces and it is recommended for ages 8-14. It comes with minifigures Kit Fisto, Captain Jag, a clone pilot and the astromech droid R4-P44.

In terms of playability the windshield of the cockpit can be opened (without taking the whole piece off) and the wings can be opened using gears at the back. Spinning the cog at the rear puts the S-foils into charge position (always wanted to say that!). Two green flick-fire missiles fire about 10 inches forward when activated.

Lego

Despite being a re-release of an earlier Arc 170 release it comes with new figures. Jedi expert Kit Fisto was released in an earlier set with Obi Wan's starfighter but all the other figures are new. R4-P44 is just like R2-D2 but with green markings on its body and a green head. The clone pilot is a distinction on the older clone pilots featured in sets like the V-19 but with a new helmet. Captain Jag is also unique, with the same body as the Clone Pilot but distinct colors on the helmet.

The ship spans 20 inches and as discussed earlier, is a re-release, the first advent out in conjunction with lesson Iii in 2005. The nose is a itsybitsy distinct in this release with the new Arc-170 a itsybitsy more rounded and sleek looking. The engines are also different. Borrowing the large wheel pieces from the Turbo Tank this new model features huge engines in relation to the size of the ship.

Stickers abound in this set, which is a non-no to hardened Lego fans, though casual users won't mind so much. It is quite sturdy and its swooshability is high. It's easy to hold and manoeuvre though opportunity the wings out takes a itsybitsy bit of juggling when in flight.

In regards to price this set fits in with Lego's new, more costly price per piece ratio at .95 for approximately 400 pieces. If you can find it a itsybitsy cheaper it's well worth it and as the largest of this wave's releases it is very appealing.
