Since 1978 The Lego Group has been producing Castle Lego sets. The Castle theme has proven to be timeless among Lego collectors and even casual fans. The Castle Lego Theme is over thirty years old and is still selling strong.
The most beloved feature of this theme are the Castle mini figures included with most Castle sets. Lego mini figures are all the time highly beloved but the Castle Lego mini figures are even more so. These minifigs are in high ask because of the accessories that regularly accompany them. Minifigures come with swords, bow and arrow sets, crossbows, shields, armor and sometimes even a horse!
Lego
In recent years Lego has stepped up it's imagination and creativity for the Castle themed sets. A good example of this is the Lego Castle Giant Chess Set. This set is highly beloved and very collectible despite the particularly high price tag. This chess set is a beautiful creation and features mini figures and Lego builds of the Castle range set in a very much playable chess set.
Over the years the villains that the Knights in these sets have had to face have changed dramatically. For example, the villains in the most recent series of Castle Lego sets are the Evil Trolls. In 2008 the villains were a mix of Evil Trolls and Evil Skeleton Warriors. Villains are regularly depicted in the same style as what is normal with medieval fantasy villains.
Overall, Lego does a great job of taking medieval fantasy and creating construction blocks based on it. This should not be unexpected as they take their work very seriously and strive to be the best every time.
